Ki Duk Han - Chairman

David Han

Chairman

I am delighted to serve as the Chairman for the 46th Annual Korean Festival. I had served as the 29th president of The Korean Society of Maryland in year 2006-2008 and have supported Annual Korean Festival for many years as it is the most important event of the year in our Korean Community. We need to show our Korean community solidarity and our culture to our young Korean American generation. So, they can be proud of our Korean heritage. As Korean Pop, Korean drama and Korean food are getting popular, the 46th Annual Korean Festival will be the showcase event of our Korean Culture. Enjoy the Festival and meet new friends and be proud of our Korean heritage! And Korean community need young people to have dream to be politicians to represent us in Congress!

Perhaps because the summer has been so hot, this year's Chuseok feels like it's approaching quickly. For the 46th Maryland Korean Festival, the first and younger generations have come together under the theme "Roots and Wings" to prepare a warm and welcoming Chuseok like the full moon. Unlike past festivals, this event will be held at an art center where you can comfortably enjoy regardless of the weather. I hope you enjoy this rich and joyful festival with family, neighbors, and friends. All the preparation committee members have worked diligently, and I kindly ask for your understanding if there are any shortcomings.

Welcome to the 46th Korean Festival, "Chuseok Thanksgiving Festival: Roots and Wings," hosted by the Korean American Association of Maryland. This festival harmoniously showcases both traditional and modern Korean culture and is a special occasion to celebrate the history and culture of the Korean American community. It is an opportunity to honor the sacrifices of the first generation and for the younger generation, who have grown thanks to their efforts, to demonstrate their talents. The Korean Festival has been an important event that provides comfort and strength to the Korean American community. Once again, with your passionate support, we hope to create a more enriching and moving event this year. I look forward to seeing everyone come together to experience and enjoy Korean culture at this festival. Thank you, and I hope you have a joyful and meaningful time.

Young Hoo Kim - Vice President

Younghoo Kim

Senior Vice President of KSM

Hello! I have a dream. My dream is to carry on the spirit of "Hongik Ingan" (the Korean philosophy of benefiting all humanity), to help the Korean community of this era, and to further develop the community we live in. I believe that when Koreans unite, we can achieve anything. We aim to offer the younger generation opportunities to freely pursue their dreams in various fields such as business, politics, IT, and K-Pop. I understand that this path is not easy, but I am confident that by taking it one step at a time, we will succeed. I hope the 46th Korean Festival will be the first step, and although it may be imperfect, it will be a meaningful process. I wish everyone a safe and memorable festival, and I kindly ask for your cooperation and support. Thank you.
